Globalise InnoCentive
- Reorganize the different elements, and make it easier for solvers to find the companies and the domains they are the most interested in
- Resort to visual thinking through clusters, spheres and bridges
- Develop advertising and public relations on an international level, based on the country targeted
- Use glocalization, to be adaptive to each market and than find out how the field or region relates to others.
- The cluster concept:
For example a problem concerning a new Bottle cap, is linked to several clusters. If I am specialized in engineering caps, I will be able to find these kind of problems in the clusters: Food and Beverage, or health care, or engineering, Lifestyles&trends, HACCP, etc.

Conserve
Conserve is a NGO which put in place a recycling system of plastic which come from the shanty town's dump in New Delhi, India. This plastic rebirth in new fashion items. This NGO employ a lot of people from the shanty town and help for the protection of the environmemt.
Beyond innovation for the recycling of the plastic, it is a human engagement. Technology and business are serving the poorest people.
New technology like internet is not really used for innovation but more for communication, to make the organisation known worldwide, to inform the future customer where to buy items.
The new technology is more in the process of recycling plastic.
The model of innovation is not really on line, it's more off line but it use on-line services without which, Conserve couldn't work.
This items are sold in the US and in Europe.
By buying these products, customers have the impression to protect environment, in a way, and to help people in India.
These customers are always looking for something new and original, something that they can't find everywhere.
These products have added value because there are creating by a NGO which protect environment and help people.
Regarding partners and designers, more than suppliers, it is a challenge for them. They have to imagine, to design and to make items which are looking good and saleable, which fit which expectations of customers in the US and in Europe.
Anita Ahuja and her husband, funder of the NGO took up the challenge of cleaning the dump in New Delhi in 1998. Thanks to a British engineer and her husband who is also an engineer, they found a process of recycling plastic without adding non natural product. Then, thanks to a designer, they draw items.
Also it respects, article 23 of Human Rights.
It is also a challenge for Anita because she has to convince people to buy these products which come from a dump; communication on the product and the organisation is very important.
The revenu sources are coming from these items sold ouside of the country but it is not easy because there are a lot of taxes to pay.
This NGO has competitors but outside of the country. It exists another NGO in Africa which recycle plastics as well : http://www.quiditmieux.org/ in Benin.
This model is completely sustainable because it takes care of the environment and also help families from the shanty town to live a bit better.
It would become more and more durable because Anita has a lot of ambition and would like to expand the organisation.
Unfortunately, it would not be so easy because as a NGO, they have to respect rules which slow down the development.
If she wants to expand maybe, it would be necessary to be a real compagny instead of being a NGO.

The Long Tail
The question was "Does the Long Tail Concept fit in the "customer in charge" environment?
I would say yes, it does and for several reasons.
First of all, the recommandations on websites like Amazon.com from internet users. People can buy items but they can also make comments about their feeling about items they already bought and used. (line 9)
Then, thanks to the Long Tail concept, it allows people to discover more and more cultural "products". At the end, people will be happy of what they saw on these websites, they will buy and give their opinion it. (line 20-21).
The Long Tail concept has also an advantage on the physical space wich surrounds us. There is much more room on these websites so people to present cultural "products". It is a new market for customer and they want to discover more and more and try new items even if it is not a mainstream music or a bestseller for a book. On these website, everything has a chance even a small one. (line 84)
In the same idea, the choice is so important that there is no mass market effect.
We are guided by our feelings and by we can read about items. (line 273-274).
Nevertheless, even if we are guided or influenced by others or by recommandations, we still have the choice to follow or not.
Another important part, it allows people to rediscover old songs that some people were looking for ages and thanks to the Long Tail concept, they finally found them. The customer in charge is playing his rule! (line 110)
Tthe Long Tail concept is well organised. As we said in E-Business Class, there are not market segment on line like off line. On line, we are characterised by what we like and the Long tail concept fits in with this theory, it allows people to be "customer in charge". (line 151).
Finally, the price.
Perhaps, 99 cents is a bit expensive to download songs, above all when we know that we can download for free.
On the other hand, we are not in the illegality and maybe it is the price for songs that we can't find anywhere else. So, if people really want this songs, he will find that 99 cents is not expensive because otherwise, he will not have it.
To conclude, the Long Tail concept is an amazing market where everybody can find something and where the people can buy and recommend.

How to travel differently?
Back to nature with different formula in France or abroad.
These formula are not new.
On the other hand, I think it is necessary to remind that sometimes tourism can be harmful and it is possible to travel without damaging.
Almost all these websites are offering luxury hospitality so it is difficult to believe that they are protecting the environment. Nevertheless let's see!
Some of these travels are expensive, I agree, but if you can do it, I think it worth it!
Hope you will enjoy visiting these websites.
Escape and Live!
In France : staying in a tree house for a few days :
So, here there are some suggestions to travel while protecting our Earth.

Free! Why $0.00 Is the Future of Business - article from Wired Magazine
After reading the article "Free! Why $0.00 Is the Future of Business" from Wired Magzine, we can notice two different period of the land of free. Compagnies are offering goods or services for free but behind this "free concept", they are selling us items, that are essential, very expensive. Obviously, it is easy to make profit and not to lose money.
Then Internet area arrived. Now, we have a lot of possibilities to get services for free like it is proposed by Google.
Regarding my example, I choose the fashion brand : Esprit.
The brand send for free the items bought by people and also the return of the items is free, if the items don't fit.
The brand can make a lot of profit thanks to this free system of delivering and returning.
First, Esprit can increase a little bit the price of its items compared to shops.
The second aspects, it can attract a lot of visitors on the website and it can make also a lot of money.
By providing this free system of delivering-returning for free, people are going to buy more because they know that if it doesn't fit, they will return their items for free.
Moreover, it is better to sale a few things to a lot of people than selling a lot of things to a few people. I think it brings back more money.
Moreover, the customer save money because he saves time so both of the company and customer make profit.
Have a look on : http://www.esprit.fr/
Another example : the free system to attract people.
For example, we are now on the era of digital camera but sometimes it is nice to have some pictures on paper.
In order to attract people, websites are offering a certain amount of developped photos for free and then people have to pay for the next developpement.
The free system is also a good marketing concept to make people buy.
In both parts, everybody make profits. The company on line, because it attracts more and more customer and also it offers a large choice of goods. The customer save time and he is having his picture faster and can choose how he can have them : like a book, on a t-shirt...
